Traveling to the Boca Raton Campus777 Glades RoadBoca Raton, Florida 33431. The Boca Raton campus is readily accessible to visitors by public transportation or private car. Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport is located approximately 25 miles to the south adjacent to Interstate-95. West Palm Beach International Airport is also close to I-95 about 30 miles to the North. Travelers may also utilize Miami International Airport, about 40 miles south of Boca Raton. From the Miami or Fort Lauderdale International Airport, take I-95 north to Glades Road. From Palm Beach International Airport, take I-95 south to Glades Road. (Exit 39) On Glades Road, head east (staying in the left lane). Turn left onto NW 10th Ave. (at second light), which will bring you into the University campus. Make your first right onto Florida Atlantic Blvd., then your first left onto Dade Ave. The Department of Ocean Engineering is located in the Old Engineering Building (Bldg. 36) on the right at the end of Dade Ave. Parking at the Boca Raton CampusVisitors may park in metered spaces in Lot 20 on Dade Ave., located between the Old Engineering Building (Bldg.36) and the library. Alternatively, there is additional metered parking in front of the University Center (the first building you passed on your left as you drove down Dade Ave). Non-metered parking in these lots is reserved for permit holders. When scheduling an appointment to visit the Department, contact the Undergraduate Coordinator at (561) 297-3435 for possible visitor parking arrangements. All campus buildings of interest to visitors are easily reached in less than a ten-minute walk from these parking lots. Boca Campus SecurityFlorida Atlantic University is a very safe campus. However, visitors should take normal precautions with their belongings and their behavior. Always lock your car and do not leave valuables unattended. The campus has its own professional Police Department located on the west side of campus on Broward Ave. Their phone number is (561) 297-3500, (or just 7-3500 if on campus) Emergency telephones are located at various places on the campus for contacting the police directly.
