Traveling to the Boca Raton Campus

The Boca Raton campus is readily accessible to visitors by public transportation or private car. Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport is located approximately 25 miles to the south adjacent to Interstate-95. West Palm Beach International Airport is also close to I-95 about 30 miles to the North. Travelers may also utilize Miami International Airport, about 40 miles south of Boca Raton.

      From the Miami or Fort Lauderdale International Airport, take I-95 north to Glades Road. From Palm Beach International Airport, take I-95 south to Glades Road. (Exit 39)

      On Glades Road, head east (staying in the left lane). Turn left onto NW 10th Ave. (at second light), which will bring you into the University campus. Make your first right onto Florida Atlantic Blvd., then your first left onto Dade Ave.

      The Department of Ocean Engineering is located in the Old Engineering Building (Bldg. 36) on the right at the end of Dade Ave.

Parking at the Boca Raton Campus

      Visitors may park in metered spaces in Lot 20 on Dade Ave., located between the Old Engineering Building (Bldg.36) and the library. Alternatively, there is additional metered parking in front of the University Center (the first building you passed on your left as you drove down Dade Ave). Non-metered parking in these lots is reserved for permit holders. When scheduling an appointment to visit the Department, contact the Undergraduate Coordinator at (561) 297-3435 for possible visitor parking arrangements. All campus buildings of interest to visitors are easily reached in less than a ten-minute walk from these parking lots.

Boca Campus Security

      Florida Atlantic University is a very safe campus. However, visitors should take normal precautions with their belongings and their behavior. Always lock your car and do not leave valuables unattended. The campus has its own professional Police Department located on the west side of campus on Broward Ave. Their phone number is (561) 297-3500, (or just 7-3500 if on campus) Emergency telephones are located at various places on the campus for contacting the police directly.

Traveling to the SeaTech Campus

  • From Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. Head East along I-595 and take first exit to US-1 (Federal Hwy.). Head south 1.1 miles and turn left (at the sign for the State Park) onto Dania Beach Blvd. Travel east 2 miles following signs to the Beach. Stay in the right lane across the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge, then take the first exit to the Public Beach area. SeaTech is the 2-story pink building on your left. Proceed through gates to the parking lot.
  • From the North on I-95. Exit at Griffin Road. Go east to US Highway 1 (Federal Highway). Turn right on US 1, travel South to Dania Beach Blvd. Turn left (at the sign for the State Park) onto Dania Beach Blvd. Travel east 2 miles following signs to the Beach. Stay in the right lane across the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge, then take the first exit to the Public Beach area. SeaTech is the 2-story pink building on your left. Proceed through gates to the parking lot.
  • From the South on I-95. Exit at Stirling Road. Head east for 1 mile to US-1 (Federal Hwy). Turn left and head north 0.3 miles to Dania Beach Blvd. Turn right onto Dania Beach Blvd and travel east 2 miles following signs to the Beach. Stay in the right lane across the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge, then take the first exit to the Public Beach area. SeaTech is the 2-story pink building on your left. Proceed through gates to the parking lot.
