A study of professionalism as it relates to Ocean Engineering with the
following topics: personal and career development, written and oral business
communications and processes, company organization and operations;
management of resources, and professional ethics.

- ENC1101: College Writing 1.

- Interviews.
- Business etiquette.
- Maintaining currency in ocean engineering.
- Conferences - representing one’s company or organization.
- B. Administration of an engineering firm:
- Personnel interactions.
- Use of company operation manuals.
- Preparation of inter-office memoranda.
- Use of business forms; purchasing and interaction with vendors.
- The basics of contracting.
- Electronic mailing.
- Familiarity with business software for time and business management.
- Ethics; Confidentiality of personal and business informations.
- Engineering code of ethics.
- Professional travel.
