      Students are encouraged to begin their graduate studies in the Fall semester. Applications for admission should be initiated about one year in advance of the desired starting date and should be filed as early as possible, preferably in the early Fall. Notification of admission is given several weeks after receipt of the completed application; recipients of financial aid are usually notified by the first of May. Depending upon the student’s background, certain preparatory courses may be required to make up for deficiencies before full admission to the program is granted. These courses may be taken at FAU.
